Commission - Death the Kid x Reader - Prom Night

You made your way into the dance hall, wearing a beautiful (favourite colour) ball gown. You blushed as a lot of people stared at you. You noticed that most people had come with dates for the prom ... you sighed, as no one ... not even a friend went with you. Unfortunately, your weapon partner was ill and couldn't go, so you were stuck on your own. You sat on one of the chairs in the corner of the room, watching the other students and teachers dance. You saw Franken Stein dancing with Marie, which made you laugh because he was being rather silly with it. Then there was Maka ... she was dancing with Soul, who quite frankly looked a little pissed off. At least you weren't the only one who wasn't dancing ... Black Star was at the food table, eating like there was no tomorrow and Tsubaki just sat in the corner quietly, talking to Crona. You sighed and looked at the floor. Suddenly, a pair of black shoes came into view. You looked up. It was Kid, holding out a hand. A very slow and romantic song came on ... and a blush rose to your cheeks
"May I have this dance?" He asked, smiling
You nodded, taking his hand and standing up. He held your hand and placed his other hand on your waist, which made you let out a small squeak of surprise. You placed your free hand on his shoulder and he began to waltz with you, making you go bright red. The music wasn't helping ... it was called "So Close" and you recognised it from somewhere but couldn't place it ...

So close to reaching that famous happy end. Almost believing this was not pretend ... And now you're beside me and look how far we've come. So far we are ... so close

"Are you alright, (Name)? You seem troubled" He said
"N-no it's nothing" You mumbled, blushing
"Are you sure?" He asked
"Yes, Kid ..." You mumbled
You dared to meet his gaze and gasped. Those eyes ... you had never noticed how beautiful they were up close. And for some reason ... he looked so damned kissable. You had loved him for a long time ... but he was often on missions and you rarely got to see him. He was a friend of yours ... and you didn't want to spoil a good friendship by saying something stupid like "I love you" ... and get rejected
The music stopped and he let you go, smiling at you
"After prom, would you like me to walk you home? I don't want you to wonder the streets in the dark alone" He said
"S-sure ..." You breathed

You stood on your front porch, with Kid standing in front of you, smiling
"Tonight was a lot of fun" You said
He nodded
"Indeed ... a perfect evening" He said
"Would you like to come in for a minute?" You asked
He looked surprised
"I don't want to be a bother" He said
"It's fine" You said, opening the front door
You went inside and he followed you, sitting on the sofa in the living room. You closed the door and joined him. He looked so darn good looking in his prom clothes
"Kid ... thank you for the wonderful evening" You said, smiling
"It's about to get better" He said
You stared at him ... and he leaned over and kissed you
"I love you, (Name)" He said
You almost fainted in shock. You had never seen any signs that he liked you ... and yet here he was, proclaiming his love for you
"K-Kid ... do you really mean it?" You asked
"Of course I do. That was my first kiss" He replied
I ... was his first?! You thought, blushing
"I should go ... Father will be wondering where I-"
You interrupted him when you kissed him out of pure excitement
"Oh Kid ... I love you too!" You said, kissing him again
The two of you shared a wonderful, blissful kiss ... you never imagined he would be so gentle ... and it was amazing ... The kiss of a Grim Reaper ... it was truly magical. When he separated  from you, you felt a little disappointed
"I have to go, dear ... I will see you tomorrow" He said, getting up
You followed him to the front door and watched him leave
"A perfect end to a perfect evening ..." You mumbled, smiling
